The female beauty has existed as a device to call attention since the beginnings of advertisement. Its present exploitation emphasizes the high expectations on the image, proper from a society where appearances play a decisive role in the social appraisement of the individuals.

This reality would be less harmful if this device would be used in a more plural way and/or creating more accurate representations of reality. Unfortunately what we find on a daily basis are not models that reflect the wide spectrum of rich and diverse forms of beauty but models that obey certain very aesthetic rigid patterns and of a perfection that often surpasses reality.

This bombardment of stereotyped and surreal beauty, together with a growing significance of appearances in our society create the danger of the non-acceptance of each owns body, and what is worse, the danger of ending up polarizing the whole of our BEING to this outward appearance.
